‘Hard work comes with benefits’: Bonang on Paris Fashion Week

Reality TV star and TV host Bonang Matheba made her runway debut at the prestigious Le Défilé runway show hosted by L’Oréal Paris.

Award-winning media personality Bonang Matheba, who trended over the weekend for her debut at Paris Fashion Week catwalk exclusively spills the deets to Sowetan about one of her biggest moments of her career.

Matheba strutted on the runway for the latest “Le Défilé L’Oréal Paris” showcase, alongside Hollywood A-listers such as Viola Davis, Kendall Jenner and Helen Mirren.

Speaking to the publication, Matheba reveals on Monday, 2 October that she was still pinching herself and she’s proud of herself as this is one of the biggest moments of her career.

“I have been in this career for 20 years, and 20 years into my career to have one of the biggest moments happen for me signifies longevity, hard work, perseverance and just being present and consistent”.


 

“It also means allowing yourself to experience, grow and challenge yourself. When I was approached by L’Oréal it was a no brainer to be at Paris Fashion Week and sharing the runway with the biggest names in entertainment.

She adds that this is confirmation that hard work, staying and running the race comes with benefits.

South Africans were also in awe of actress Thuso Mbedu, who was joined Bonang Matheba and more stars such as Elle Fanning, Camila Cabello, Katherine Langford, Yseult, Aja Naomi King, Andie MacDowell, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Coco Rocha, Liya Kebede, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Eva Longoria.

In a video that trended on X on Monday morning, Matheba can be seen confidently strutting her stuff, striking poses, and making South Africans proud of her.

Mzansi was filled with pride seeing their fan-favourites stars Mbedu and Mathema shining on the international stage.
