Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, the late Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) founder and Traditional Prime Minister of the AmaZulu people, will be laid to rest.
Buthelezi, who also founded the IFP, served as the Zulu nation’s traditional prime minister. He also served as South Africa’s first democratically elected Minister of Home Affairs. Last Friday, he passed away at home at the age of 95.
In honor of the late Zulu chief, Amabutho regiments performed traditional song and dance at Buthelezi’s royal residence in KwaPhindangene on Friday morning.
President Cyril Ramaphosa honored Buthelezi by declaring his funeral a Special Official Funeral Category 1.
