What looked like an apology at first from Zandile “Zandie” Khumalo, turned out to be yet another rant when the musician took to her Instagram to send a strong message to her haters on Tuesday, 22 August.
The Ikhwela singer, who was the State’s first witness in the rebooted Senzo Meyiwa murder trial in July, set tongues wagging this week with her direct and indirect insults toward defence lawyer in the trial, Advocate Zandile Mshololo.
Meyiwa – who was a Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper – was murdered at Zandie’s family home in Vosloorus, Gauteng, on 26 October 2014 in an alleged botched robbery. Five suspects were arrested and are standing trial.
ZANDIE ATTACKS ADVOCATE MSHOLOLO
Zandie went on a social media tirade, calling Mshololo – who represents accused number five in the trial, Fisokuhle Ntuli – a “useless” and “fraudulent” lawyer.
“Your Mshololo is useless and what makes me angry is that she knows the truth but she is still busy representing a known killer that was sentenced to o life abawu 6 under her representation in KZN,” she wrote in one post.
Zandie, who is the younger sister of Meyiwa’s then-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo, also indirectly named her new dog after Mshololo, but rearranged the letters of her pet’s name to Mlosholo. The mother-of-one claimed that her dog is ugly, black, smelly and has no brains.
“But in end inja inja [a dog is a dog] right? umsebenzi wayo ukukhonkotha, Igama layo uMlosholo [it’s job is to bark, it’s name is uMlosholo] …all bark and no bite but it will have to do,” Zandie wrote.

SORRY, NOT SORRY
Following much backlash on social media and a fiesty response from Mshololo, Zandie has said that she will not be apologising.
In her lengthy post, she started by pretending to apologise before telling netizens that she does not regret her actions.
“You guys said I’m not a public figure, but after buying one dog and writing one little post, you’re screenshoting, sharing and tweeting,” she wrote.

Zandie said she has been receiving messages from people pleading with her to stop with the insults, while others have been praising her for “standing up for herself.”
“To tell the truth, I don’t care about any of those, what I want u guys to know is that I will go to any length to protect my family and the people I love [sic].
“Akekho noyedwa owaziyo kini [None of you know] how it feels to be through what my family have been through yet u all think u are entitled to tell me how to feel or how to act… I’m nice if u are nice and if yall thought Kelly was mean, rude or evil oh bodali [my darlings] u haven’t met me 😈😂😂 that one is an angel compared to me its just that mina I wait uze ungidakelwe kuqala [for you to provoke me] so from now on yazini nje it is gonna be fire with fire [sic].”
Concluding her post she wrote: “Bring the lawyers, bring the police, bring the soldiers, witches and hitmen but this ends here. For my family, all hell will break loose.”
