South African actor Seputla Sebogodi solidified his mark in the film industry in the early 2000s with his villainous role as Kenneth Mashaba on SABC 1’s Generations soap opera. Where is the actor now?
According to TVSA, Seputla Sebogodi first made his appearance in Generations in 2005 before leaving the show at the end of August in 2011. He starred in the local soapie alongside his onscreen trophy wife Dineo Mashaba—real name Kaltlego Danke, his onscreen brother, Paul Mashaba—real name Siyabonga Thwala, and other iconic Generations stars such as seasoned actor Connie Ferguson.
Sebogodi decided to leave Generations after a strike broke out with several members of the cast demanding an increase in salaries and a three-year extension in their contracts, Mail & Guardian reported.
Contrary to popular belief, Sebegodi is also a seasoned actor and actually started acting back in the 90s. He’s first notable acting role is reported to be as Nkwesheng, a womaniser on Bophelo Ke Semphekga, TVSA reported
In 2011, while still on Generations, Sebegodi’s weight loss had several viewers concerned for his health. However, the reason for the drastic weight loss was due to the actor battling with diabetes, SowetanLIVE reported.Seputla Sebegodi, 61, is a man of many talents. Not only is he an incredible actor, but he is also a talented singer. After leaving Generations, he has since decided to go back to his routes as a child of a ZCC pastor and launched his Gospel career with an album called Nkuke Morena (Lift Me Up Lord) and proved that his heart is not made out of stone as some Generations viewers might think, IOL reported.
