Katlego Maboe bounces back on Safta nomination list

Well known presenter Katlego Maboe is back.

Maboe managed to get a nod in the best presenter award. This comes after he spent a few years on the sidelines as he was accused of GBV.

But he was cleared of those charges and he is doing what he does best – entertaining South Africans.

Having returned to the Morning Show on SABC, Maboe has also found himself at the pick of things as the host of a popular SABC game show named Deal or No Deal.

There has been a high number of nominations in all categories this year and this has been attributed to competitiveness in the entertainment industry.

This year’s Safta’s are set to be the biggest by a country mile due to the record number of nominations and entries.

“The high number of entries speaks volumes about the growth of the SA film and television industry, with new productions making part of the nominees list as well. It is also exciting that this year, industry peers will again be able to interact and celebrate each other in person,” said The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF)’s acting CEO Thobela Mayinje.

In the best presenter category, Maboe will be up against seasoned celebrity chef Lorna Maseko.

Maseko got the nod for her highly popular cook show Homegrown Taste South Africa.
