Veteran filmmaker and producer Teboho Mahlatsi, best known for co-creating the critically acclaimed series “Shaka Illelme” and “Yizo Yiza”, has passed away at age 52 after a long battle with cancer. His family announced his passing on Monday, July 3rd, sending shockwaves throughout the entertainment industry.
Known for producing high-quality content that showcased South Africa’s diverse culture, Mahlatsi played a crucial role in shaping the country’s film and television scene. He produced various award-winning shows like “Gaz’lam,” “For Love and Broken Bones,” and Netflix original series “Queen Sono.” In addition to his groundbreaking contributions to the world of entertainment, Mahlatsi also served as Executive Director of the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) from 2014 until 2021.
