The family of the late Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa has been looking for Justice since 2014. On 26 October 2014, Senzo Meyiwa was shot and killed in a robbery at his girlfriend’s, actress and singer Kelly Khumalo, house in Vosloorus. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital in Johannesburg.

Now people were happy to see his trial moving after more than six years of no action. We were now on witness number four and getting their view of those whom were inside the house during the incident.

Now According to legal expert and advocate Modidima Mannya, the trial can take a different direction under Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng as the State will have to present its evidence again and they can choose to lead it differently.

 

 

 

 

 

This is following the suspension of judge Tshifhiwa Maumela whom was the proceeding officer at this trial. Since this is not a civil trial where a judge can reach a conclusion based on affidavits from the parties, in a criminal trial, a lot is at stake, and it is important that the judge observes the demeanour of witnesses as they orally tell their version of events. This is another delay to the family of Senzo Meyiwa.
