The Thabo Bester saga continues and we know that those who are accused of having him escape from prison have been applying for bail and they are about to hear their fate whether they will be granted bail or denied. Dr Nandipha is the only accused that has not applied for any bail because she seems to believe that her arrest was unlawful in Tanzania, and how she was brought back into the country was unlawful and as such she has made an urgent application to the court so that she can be released from custody.

 

But now it is getting even worse. We know that Thabo Bester is a convicted criminal who escaped from prison for almost a year. Bester was sentenced for rape and also for murder. Katlego Bereng had to die in the process as his body was burnt in cell 35 at Mangaung Correctional Center, so that it can look like it was Thabo Bester who has died.

But now it is said that even Thabo Bester is planning to challenge the procedure that was used to re-arrest him im Tanzania, and the way he was deported. It looks like he is following in the foot steps of Dr Nandipha as she has done that. The law in this country does not protect the victims at all. The victims are always victimised twice. First by the perpetrator and then the justice system that always fails the people. They are more concerned about protecting the right of the perpetrators than the rights of those who have been wronged.
