Katlego Bereng’s mother arrived at the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court ahead of the accused in the Thabo Bester’s escape Bail Hearing with pictures of her son so that she can pray against the bail hearing of the 5 accused individuals.

Katlego’s family learnt of his murder after DNA tests had been conducted between him and his mother. These DNA results confirmed that Katlego’s body is the body that had been found in Thabo Bester’s cell after his escape.

Katlego’s body had been used a a decoy for Thabo’s escape. His mother set up with banners and candles ahead of the court appearance in order to pray for the unsuccessful bail hearing of the accused, which include security personnel from the prison and camera technicians that worked inside the prison.
