Eastern Cape based gospel music sensation Betusile Mcinga hopes he will ride on his song “Ngena Noah” which won the song of the year at the Metro FM music awards.
“It is the first time a gospel song has won song of the year. When I recorded the song, I was just doing my job,” he said.
“I did not know that God wanted to bestow me with such an honour.”
Mcinga arrived to a raucous welcome at Mthatha Airport on Tuesday afternoon from a crowd of more than 200 people, including sports, recreation, arts & culture MEC Nonceba Kontsiwe, OR Tambo district mayor Mesuli Ngqondwana and his proud mother and gospel legend Lusanda Mcinga.
The airport reverberated with echoes of Ngena Noah, the song that has captured South African hearts.
Mcinga said it was the first time he had been showered with so much love.
