Mthokozisi Thwala, a friend of the late Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa appeared before the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria, where he continued to testify in cross-examination on Wednesday, with one of the big questions to be addressed: “who moved Senzo after was shot?”.

In October 2014, Senzo was visiting his then girlfriend Kelly Khumalo when he was shot dead during a robbery that gone wrong.

 

The matter has to be stood down on Tuesday and postponed to Wednesday after the interpreter fails to arrive. Five men are being tried for the murder of the slain Goalkeeper.

“Unfortunately, we are without the services of the interpreter. He called this morning that owing to circumstances in control he would not be able to be here”. The state prosecutor George Baloyi said.

This another delay, on Friday the case was postponed to Monday, because the defence lawyer Sipho Ramosepele, who is representing two of the accused fell ill. However, just when the case was due to resume on Monday, another delay arised.

During the trial for the murder of Senzo, his friend Tumelo Madlala testified that he found Senzo on the right side of the sitting room where there were blood splatters. However, under cross-examination, Mthokozisi claimed that he found Senzo on the opposite side of the sitting room, away from where the blood splatters could be seen in the exhit.

In the house when Senzo was shot there were seven witnesses, Kelly Khumalo, her mother Ntombi, her sister Zandi, Zandi’s then boyfriend Longwe Twala, two of Senzo’s friends Tumelo and Mthokozisi, the fourth witness in the murder trial.

However, Mthokozisi, under cross-examination on Monday, told the court that he had found Senzo on the opposite side in the sitting room. This was away from where the blood splatters could be seen on one of the pictures taken in the house as an exhibit.

Mthokozisi has also told the court that before he could get to Senzo in the sitting room, he had helped Tumelo, who was locked up in the bedroom, come out using a spoon to come out.
