DJ Maphorisa was allegedly arrested yesterday for assaulting his girlfriend, Thuli Phongolo. It had been a surprise to Mzansi that all the time they had been dating, people were not actually aware of it. It was rumoured from a video clip that they were seen together when Maphorisa was DJing at that time. It was not confirmed that they were dating because social media thought they were partners.

 

 

 

 

The incident of their assault was revealed in a statement deposed by Thuli Phongolo at the Sandton Police Station. This is after she confronted him about the argument they had, which started at the gig they both attended. It is unclear what caused it. According to sources, the couple has been going through some relationship problems.

His fans are worried because it could simply be a way to ruin his life and career by laying a hand on his own partner. Another Amapiano DJ from Sasolburg, Kwa-Nduna Shisanyama (Zamdela), patrons have made it clear to commend the popular outlet for its last decision to fire one of its DJs after the allegations of abuse. “After careful consideration, Kwa-Nduna Shisanyama management has decided to cut all ties with the alleged DJ (PANANA) with immediate effect.”
