Rikhado Makhado better known as Ricky Rick was a South African artist, rapper and public figure. Ricky was married to Bianca Nadioo and they have a son together. He passed away on the 23rd of February 2022, the country woke up to such terrible news, that the award winning artist had committed suicide.

Before Ricky passed away self he posted on his twitter account that “this land is still my home, I will come back a stronger” which was his last post. When he didn’t come to his barber shop his friends went to his house to check him, they found his unconscious body and tried to rescue him but unfortunately he passed away on the way to the hospital.

 

 

 

 

 

After he passed away his mother went to Mount Everest Base Camp and climbed to the top of the mountain to honor Ricky’s life. His successful music festival Cotton Fest continued and his friends and family hosted it in 2022 and in 2023. Louisa Zondo took to Instagram and shared that she has written a book in honor of her son.

And shared that on the book she reflects on past traumas and healing. She said writing helped her come into terms with her son’s death and that it taught her about mental health along with mental health awareness and she titled the book Dearest MaRicky.
