During their research, Nontle discovers that Anati is upset and angry with her mother’s current exploration.

The police suspect that Anati may dare accuse her aunt of wrongdoing. Nontle admits in Mbali about his troubles and chooses to do whatever it appears to take to obtain the log he would like.

But even so, Mbali does become flummoxed by Nontle’s enigmatic speech. Nontle once again confronts Anati and pecks her to deflect attention from his real intentions.

He queries a crystal for his beer, while Anati also searches for one, which Nontle happens to find and likes to read, revealing vital information.
