The 72-year-old actress and model Cynthia Shange holds two entertainment industry records in South Africa.
To refresh your memory, in 1972 she was the first black woman to represent South Africa at the Miss World pageant, and she also starred in the first black feature film to be produced in South Africa, titled Udeliwe. The actress first found success as a model in 1970 before becoming well-known for her role as Mama Buthelezi on the SABC 2 soap drama Muvhango.
