On May 20th, at the Meropa Casino in Polokwane, gospel veteran Dr. Winnie Mashaba will celebrate reaching this significant milestone.
The fact that she has worked in the gospel sector for more than twenty years deserves to be commemorated with a celebration. This year, gospel singer Dr. Winnie Mashaba is celebrating 25 years of working in the music industry, during which she has won multiple awards.
Mashaba has recorded a total of 18 albums since she first began her career in music. She has recorded a number of albums over the course of her career, some of which are, Ditebogo, Moporofeta Jeremiah, Kea Letshaba, and Relebogile.
The Limpopo Music Awards named Mashaba the Best Traditional Gospel Artist in 2019, the Crown Gospel Awards named her the Best Female Artist in 2010, and One Gospel named Hakena Nako the Best Song of the Year in 2008. On May 20th, as she is on her Relebogile Tour, she will commemorate this momentous occasion at the Meropa Casino in Polokwane, Limpopo.
The singer’s upbeat concert promises to provide a memorable experience for all of the audience members.
She said, “When I was a little girl, all I dreamed of doing was being a singer, performing on some of the biggest stages, and seeing myself on TV, all of which have come to fruition.”
It was in 1998 when she was in the 11th grade, that gospel singer Solly Moholo discovered her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. According to an interview that Mashaba gave to Daily Sun, the fact that she has spent the past 25 years working in the music industry is evidence of God’s perfect plan for her life.
“It is a humbling experience to have been here to watch the development of the music industry as a whole, but at the same time, it still excites me to make more songs as if I had just started out in the music business.
“They say that if you work at something you enjoy and are passionate about, you won’t feel any pressure, competition, or any of the other many factors that could derail your efforts to become a better version of yourself. I have a strong sense that the All-Powerful God is looking out for me,” she added. She reported that the trip did not go without a hitch.
“I encountered challenges that could have ended my music journey prematurely, such piracy, being exploited, and more,” she added, but the fire kept blazing.
Mashaba stated that she had extended invitations to a handful of her coworkers to join her on stage while she celebrates this significant achievement.
She stated, “This is honestly 100% Dr. Winnie Mashaba brand moment, and I have lined up more than 25 songs for my followers and a bit of a flavor on the event that I can’t give you every detail about since I will be spoiling the Mega surprises during the tour.”
Mashaba encourages artists on the rise to have a humble attitude at all times. She advised that in addition to concentrating on growing their companies, people should adore what they do and avoid celebrating too soon.
