Imagine breaking up with your partner, only for him to become a stalker threatening not just your life, but the safety of those around you too. Well, Hlengi (Nqobile Nunu Khumalo) didn’t have to imagine.
Last year her ex-turned-stalker Amo (Kagiso Rathebe) almost killed her colleague Dintle (Mapaseka Koetle).
He should have been behind bars for a good, long stretch, so Hlengi was outraged when he got out of jail early in mid March and came looking for her to “apologise”.
He comes to apologise to Hlengi but he does it in his usual stalker way and freaks her out.
He paid the prosecutor to get an early release, but instead of laying low, he tries to get Hlengi to forgive him and she relives her trauma.
But she fights back and finds out how Amo got out, which exposes a list of criminals who have paid off the prosecutor.
This takes Hlengi back to her investigative journalist roots. She wants to get to the bottom of Amo’s suspicious release, leading her down a path to discover corruption in the prosecution office.
How far is Hlengiwe willing to dig in order to reveal the corrupt system?
