Yesterday, the Durban ICC hosted an event where guests gathered to hear former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo give the first Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi annual lecture. This lecture was organized by the Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Foundation, which was established to preserve his legacy. At the event, there were other prominent figures such as former ANC Secretary-General Ace Magashule, former MEC Cyril Xaba, businessman Moses Tembe, and KZN IFP Chairperson Thami Ntuli.

 

 

 

 

However, Ace Magashule was spotted attending the event in high spirits. Remember that the former ANC secretary-general faced suspension due to allegations of corruption, causing him to lose weight and face a tough time. But now, it seems like he is bouncing back and rubbing shoulders with the boys, which is a positive development.

During the event, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi spoke about the formation of the IFP with the blessings of the ANC and how he upheld the ideals of liberation even in the face of lies and propaganda. King Misuzulu KaZwelithini also showed his support, describing Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi as one of the greatest Africans.

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo praised Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi for his role in preserving and fighting for the institution of traditional leadership within the structure of a modern and democratic South Africa.
