Meet Uzalo’s Mamlambo’s mother who worked as Deputy minister

On Uzalo, actress Gugu Gumede plays the part of Hlengiwe, who is also called Mamlambo. Her father is Simon Hulumeni Gumede, and her mother is Zanele KaMagwaza Msibi, who used to be a member of parliament and worked in Jacob Zuma’s cabinet.


 

 

 

 

Getting to know Zanele KaMagwaza Msibi as one of the women who are living to make a mark. She is 58 years old and comes from the countryside of Makhosini. She went to the University of Zululand and got her BA there. She has a degree from the University of Natal and a degree from the University of Durban Westville in local government.

Zanele used to be in charge of a school. She joined the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) when she was 13 and became a member in 1975. In 1976, she was the chairperson of a branch of the IFP.

Zanele was made to be in charge. She has been in charge of a lot of groups. In addition to being the head of Inkatha, she was also the deputy head of the Youth and Women Brigade from 1998 to 2003. She also led the Emakhisini subregion as its Chairperson.

Zanele started the National Freedom Party (NFP) on January 25, 2011, along with other IFP members. She had learned a lot from the organizations she had worked for and was ready to share what she had learned. She was a deputy minister of technology in the past (2014-2019). Zanele was a very important woman.
