Sphelele Mzimela was let go from Uzalo in 2020 because she supposedly got pregnant while her role was on fire. She played Mazaza on Uzalo, and they had to find a replacement right away because her part on the show was so important at the time.

Sphelele Mzimela had trouble having kids in the past, and she didn’t go to the doctor because she was afraid they would tell her she would always have trouble having kids. So, Uzalo’s pregnancy, which seemed like a problem on the show, was actually a blessing she had always prayed for.
