Thuso Mbedu Unveils Her First Comic Book Niobe: She-TribeTHUSO MBEDU – Issuu
South African actress Thuso Mbedu has added another feather to her cap by revealing the cover art for her first comic book Niobe: She-Tribe. The book is a collaboration with Stranger Comics, a publisher of diverse fantasy stories.

Mbedu, who rose to fame with her roles in The Underground Railroad and The Woman King, announced her deal with Stranger Comics in December 2021. She said she was excited to write a new story in the Tales of Asunda series, which features Afro-futuristic characters and worlds.

Niobe: She-Tribe follows the adventures of Niobe Ayutami, a young half-elf warrior who is destined to unite the fractured tribes of Asunda. Mbedu co-wrote the story with Sebastian A. Jones, the creator of Asunda and Stranger Comics.

On Instagram, Mbedu shared the cover art of Niobe: She-Tribe, which shows Niobe wielding a sword and shield against a fiery background. She thanked Jones and artist Hyoung Taek Nam for their work and support.

She also expressed her gratitude to her fans for their love and encouragement. “Thank you for always being so supportive of my journey,” she wrote. “I hope you enjoy this new venture as much as I have enjoyed creating it.”
