Long suffering from difficulties, the artisan has now undone all of her efforts. In the provincial seat of Nelspruit in the little hamlet of Lekazi, Mpumalanga, Rebecca Malope was born. Despite having a very difficult upbringing, she was raised in the woods. Doctors gave her a dismal prognosis, telling her that she would be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of her life due to a deadly illness. She and her family were unable to adopt a fair approach due to financial issues. She is now able to walk normally once more because of God’s grace.

Rebecca Malope has supported her family financially throughout their difficulties. When they were 18 years old, she and her sister Cynthia Malope both left their parents’ homes and made their way to Johannesburg’s Evaton suburb. To find temporary, low-paying job, they would travel several hours from Mpumalanga to the town of Evaton.
