The Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini’s ceremonial opening of the KwaZulu-Natal Assembly on Thursday would allow Premier Nomusa Dube-State Ncube’s of the Province Address (Sopa), scheduled for Friday, to go forward.

 

 

 

 

The Zulu monarch will be addressing the KZN Provincial Legislature for the first time since ascending to the throne last year following the passing of his father, King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu, in 2021.

King Misuzulu kaZwelithini was unable to speak to MPLs at the commencement of the legislature last year because he had not yet received his official crown, despite being legally appointed in 2021 in accordance with Zulu royal family tradition.
