Rikhado Muziwendlovu Makhado, professionally known as Riky Rick, was a South African singer, rapper, songwriter, composer, actor, fashion designer and entrepreneur. He was one of the owners of Cotton Club Records and a member of Boyz N Bucks. As an award-winning artist, he was at the peak of his career before his death.

 

 

The rapper was born on 20th July 1987. Meaning he was only 34 years old at the time of his passing.

His death was confirmed as a suicide after it was reported that the rapper hung himself at his home studio and died as he was being transported to the hospital. Since then, the landscape of the music industry locally has never been the same.



Thursday, 23 February 2023, is set to mark a year since the country was stunned by the news that Riky Rick is late. As such, his Cotton Fest team has confirmed that the anniversary will not pass without the rapper being honoured.
