Cape Town’s Mzansi celebrities have defended DJ Don Design, whom social media detectives suspect of murdering Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his close friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.
Don Design, who was close friends with the rapper, is being accused by social media commentators, not the police, of having a hand in AKA’s death and speaking with and interacting with one of the wanted suspects, dressed in black, who fired shots at the group.
The social media detectives’ conspiracy is based on CCTV footage from AKA and Tibz’s Friday night assassination at Durban’s Florida Road.
1: According to social media detectives, CCTV footage shows Don Design wearing a white T-shirt standing near the white Hyundai Staria minibus. His behaviour and hand movements seemed odd.
AKA and his friends had been drinking and eating at the Wish Restaurant for hours before his birthday performance at a Durban nightclub. He was shot as he left Wish.
Rapper Da Les, an AKA friend, defended DJ Don Design on social media.
But it’s dominated by a lot of idiots with data and smartphones, and if you’re weak, they’ll ruin your life.
“Stay strong, bhuti (brother), mourn your friend, heal, and continue to live your life as long as you and your friend know the truth, love, and light.” Zandie Khumalo Gumede said
Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Police Commissioner, condemned the suspect’s naming in an earlier IOL report. He warned that it could endanger Don Design.
Mkhwanazi warned that naming suspects could endanger their lives.
We encourage information sharing, but naming suspects is dangerous. It’s dangerous because it may attract something we don’t want, and if someone is hurt, we’ll have no choice but to go after those who mention other people on public platforms.
“They might have caused future harm,” he said.
Leave @dondesign alone. He was innocent. He supported Kiernan throughout. He never hurt him. Enough! Let him heal! Everyone.”
