AKA ‘received several warnings’ not to set foot in Durban again

South African rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes was murdered outside a restaurant in Durban, a city he was reportedly warned not to visit again after the death of his fiancée, Anele “Nellie” Tembe, in April 2021. A source close to AKA claimed that he and his associates had been told not to set foot in Durban several times but ignored the warnings.

The rapper’s death has sparked discussions about who ordered the hit and the safety of public figures in South Africa.

OPINION:

Kiernan “AKA” Forbes was a popular rapper, songwriter, and record producer from South Africa. He was known for his hit songs such as “Fela In Versace,” “All Eyes on Me,” and “Jika.” AKA was a dynamic artist who was admired for his energetic stage performances and his ability to blend different genres of music.

Off-stage, AKA was known for being a passionate and hardworking individual. He was always dedicated to his music and constantly strived to improve his craft. AKA was also known for his love for his family and friends, and he often shared photos of them on social media.

However, AKA was not without controversy. He was involved in public feuds with other artists, including fellow South African rapper Cassper Nyovest. AKA was also known for his outspoken personality and his willingness to speak his mind, even if it meant courting controversy.

Overall, AKA was a talented and dynamic artist who was beloved by his fans. He will be remembered for his contributions to the South African music industry and his energetic and passionate performances. Despite everything, he still didn’t deserve to be assassinated like that, we can’t let our musicians live in fear.
