tributes have been pouring in for the late South African rapper AKA, who was shot dead in a suspected hit in Durban at age 35.
The multi-award winning rapper, real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes was pronounced dead at the scene outside a restaurant on Florida Road in the late hours of Friday.
Now, former Kaizer Chiefs duo Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Siphiwe Tshabalala and former Orlando Pirates captain Lucky lekgwathi have paid tribute to the late rapper in their own individual ways.

On Saturday, former Kaizer Chiefs central midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane took to his Instagram account where he took a trip down memory lane where he relived the maskandi vs hip hop football match where he starred alongside the late AKA and even the late Rikhado “Ricky Rick” Makhado.
As part of his caption, the former Kaizer Chiefs central midfielder penned a touching tribute to the late congratulate hitmaker where he wrote, “Rest easy Kiernan. May your Soul Rest in Peace”.
In the case of Siphiwe Tshabalala, the former Kaizer Chiefs left winger who can play as a right winger and as an attacking midfielder took to his Instagram account where he shared one of the freshest photos of AKA. As part of his caption, the two time league winner with Kaizer Chiefs wrote, “SUPAMEGA” followed by a broken love heart, dove of peace and a candle emoji.
When it comes to Lucky lekgwathi, the former Orlando Pirates captain who led the club to their second CAF Champions League final in 2013 took to his Instagram stories where he shared a photo of the late rapper who was captured wearing the black and white home jersey of the Houghton based outfit during an outing.
As part of his caption, the former Orlando Pirates centre back defender wrote, “Rest peacefully AKA”.
