Vusi Ma R5, the naturally gifted king of Bacardi music, is being laid to rest in Mabopane, Tshwane today, Sunday, February 5th. On Monday, January 30, 2022, Vusi Ma R5 was shot to death.
Bacardi songs such as “Thaba Ke Changitse” and “Tse Nnyane” were among his most famous works. While he was performing on the main stages at events such as Tshwanefontein, he brought Tshwane’s Bacardi and its dance moves to the attention of the world.
Rapelang Marungwane-Mosoeu, the late Vusi MA R5’s daughter, said that his father’s killer may be thrilled now, but they are left heartbroken.

Vusi Ma R5 was also well-known for bringing several skilled dancers to Mzansi and for collaborating on music with many emerging artists during his career. His funeral, which is currently taking place at his residence in Mabopane, Tshwane, is attracting a large number of mourners. After the funeral services, everyone will make their way to the Odi Cemetery in Mabopane to lay him to rest.
As a result of his murder, Colonel Dimakatso Sello, a spokeswoman for the Gauteng police department, stated that police in Akasia are still investigating a case of murder.
“On the morning of January 30, 2023, around one in the morning, the police were called to a shooting incident where a man, 34 years old, was found lying next to the road with gunshot wounds.
The victim was reportedly sitting with his friends outside of a tavern at extension 13 in Soshanguve, Tshwane, when he went across the road to the car.
The incident took place in Tshwane. She said that the others only heard gunshots and when they went to investigate, they discovered the victim lying dead on the ground.”
Sello added that, no suspects have been arrested since the incident occurred.
