South Africa – The loss of a loved one is never easy, especially when that person was Mandla Mampintsha Maphumulo, a musician and record label owner, according to his family.
During a joint family briefing between the Simelane and Maphumulo families on Monday, family spokeswoman Zanele Maphumulo said, “He was adored by his family and the nation.
Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo, a well-known businessman and musician, passed away on Christmas Eve at the age of 40, just days after his record company revealed he had suffered a stroke and was being treated at a hospital.
The family of Bongekile “Babes Wodumo” Simelane and Maphumulo informed the media on their late father’s untimely death and addressed a number of issues, including the remarks made about the actor and his wife.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Zanele Maphumulo said: “With regard to Babes, as I have previously stated, losing a loved one is not simple. She hasn’t been feeling well for the past two days, but because we are a praying family and we believe in God, the prayers of both families—the Maphumulo and Simelane families—have supported and helped her.
They were husband and wife, and they were very close friends and lovers. In good health is their son Sponge. Each of us is supporting the others.
His memorial ceremony will take place on Thursday in Durban Central, and his funeral will be held on Friday, according to information provided by his family. The specifics, though, have not yet been decided and will be disclosed when they are.
The funeral will be on Friday; we are still looking for a location with the assistance of the government, which has stepped up to aid us since, as we all know, he was an iconic figure in the KwaZulu-Natal province.
The memorial ceremony will be held on Thursday at Pastor Vusi Dube’s church, the ECC, and it will begin at 11 a.m. The public is also welcome to attend the memorial service because it will be a celebration of Mampintsha’s life.Additionally, Zanele Maphumulo refuted accusations that she had learned of Mampintsha’s passing from unofficial sources.
We won’t entertain claims made without supporting evidence. When Mampintsha passed away, both families—the Maphumulos and the Simelanes—were by his side. Since we were there, we didn’t hear about it from anyone, stated Maphumulo.
The families used the occasion to express their dissatisfaction with the actions and remarks made by users on social media.
Social media is social media, so anyone may say whatever they want, and we can’t prohibit anyone from doing so. However, as a family of integrity, we don’t tolerate anything.
People are saying all kinds of things, but as a family, we know who the real Mampintsha and Babes are, so we act on what we know,” the family member said. We are not interested in anything that is being reported in the media.
However, we do request that South Africans show respect for the family who are currently in sorrow, added Maphumulo.
