Do you Remember Doobsie From Muvhango, Here Is What Happened To Her Before she Died

Lindiwe Chibi was a bubbly and optimistic South African actress who was born at Soweto in Gauteng province on the 12th of January the year 1976. She used to play the character of Doobsie on the SABC 2’s popular soapie; Muvhango from the the late 90s to 2005. After she left Muvhango in 2005, the character of Doobsie was then re-casted by Khanyi Mbau for a short period of time, thereafter Khabonina Qubeka took over the character.

Lindiwe left her acting role on Muvhango due to a hurtful reason. In 2005, Lindiwe was shot in head by her boyfriend Dan Mokoena at her mother’s home. The bullet entered her cheek and exited at the back of her head. The incident left her in a coma for three weeks. She surprised everyone when she awoke from the coma, but she was paralysed down the right side of her body.

Lindiwe survived the bullet, then in the year 2007 while she was still in the process of recovering, she died of pneumonia at the Chris Hani-Baragwanath Hospital. She died on the 9th of May 2007 at the age of 31 years. The character of Doobsie was immediately discontinued from Muvhango in honour of Lindiwe Chibi, since the character belonged to her.
