ANC veteran, Tony Yengeni celebrated his birthday on a boat with his friends, this set tongues wagging on social media as many opined that Yengeni loves luxury and always dresses so smart unlike his fellow ANC comrades.
Yengeni shared the photo on a boat indicating that he was having a great time with his friends as he celebrates his birthday. The photo he shared attracted mixed reactions.
“I always admired your cleanliness since Felicia Mabuza invited you on her talk show to discuss your dress sense and politics..many years ago..respect sir.”
“Happy birthday brother Tony. I like it when you enjoy yourself as Tony…not this thing of forcing politics instead of being yourself…guru that just love niceties,” some said.
Social critics however argue that ANC politicians don’t feel shame when they are always showing off their lavish lifestyles, while majority of South Africans are struggling to put food on their tables due to the incompetence of the ruling party ANC.
“Nice Tony Yengeni, unfortunately majority of our black people are going through the worst in their hopeless lives. They are finding sanctuary in drugs, prostitution, criminality, and izinkabi. They had hope and faith in you and your political party, while you post yourself living large,” they said.
It seems at this point that Tony Yengeni is no longer interested in whatever direction ANC is taking, and is only focusing on enjoying his life. He is on record saying that his generation and that which came before him, must now rest and give the younger generation a chance to lead.
Yengeni made it clear that the generation of former presidents Thabo Mbeki, Jacob Zuma, must not be found contesting again for positions within the ANC. He seem to be the only comrade who is talking sense when it comes to giving the younger leaders a chance within the ANC.
