She was born on 9th April 1975 in Durban in KwaZulu-Natal Province, and raised in a loving and secure environment of her parents and family members. She is the sister of the well known entatainer Nandi Madida, and they have a close relationship. Her knowledge and expertise in information technology have made her prominent. She is the founder of The Norma Mngoma Foundation, the purpose of the foundation is to improve and create better education opportunities for less privileged children in South Africa. She is also known for being the estranged wife of the former finance minister Malusi Gigaba . She is a proud mother of two children Mvelo and Nkanyezi .
