Remember the child from “The Gods Must Be Crazy, “? See how she looks now

I have been sporadically attempting to find out how Xisa from the comedy movie ‘The Gods Must Be Crazy 2’ looks like now, almost six months after the film’s debut in 1989, which is now thirty years after the film was first released. In my head, and I guess in the heads of a lot of other people who saw the movie, Xisa was a boy much like Xiri, and ‘his’ courage and cleverness when it came to living in the jungle was rather astounding. Xiri, on the other hand, was a girl.

For example, when “he” lost “his” 6-year-old brother Xiri, who was carried away by a truck belonging to poachers as “he” hung on a tree to pick some fruits, “he” never gave up on him and went through thick and thin to trace the truck and find him. Xiri had been carried away by poachers as “he” hung on the tree to pick some fruits.

My investigation into discovering the identity of Xisa came to an end today when I was told the truth by a person who was familiar with the real-life person who inspired the character.

When I was browsing through the postings made by a Facebook group titled “The African History,” I came across a post that had a composite photo of Xisa and a woman with the text “the young child is now here.”

Since I had always assumed that Xisa was a male all these years, it came as quite a shock to find out that she was actually a girl. Because I was curious about her true name, I decided to click on the comments in order to find out what it was.

It became clear, after reading the comments, that Xisa was originally from Namibia, not South Africa or Botswana as many of us had previously believed again.

One Facebook user stated that she was from Tsumke, while other users who are more familiar with her stated that she really resides in Keetmanshoop city at a location known as Sonop.
