The Idols SA season 15 contestant; Nqobile Gumede who made it to the top 10 recently shared a very touching post on Instagram where she shared a picture of herself on Instagram in the hospital bed after having an ear surgery.

Apparently, this KwaZulu-Natal province Songstress was diagnosed with preauricular absess pit when she was 13 years old. Preauricular abscess pit is a congenital condition of external ear. It is common but not usually noticed until symptomatic recurrent abscesses which is what she’s been dealing with since she was 13 years, if the pit that she mentioned earlier becomes infected.

She had gone to the doctor several times to drsin it, and it would go away but then kept recurring and about a year ago, a doctor told her that it would need to be surgically treated, meaning they’d have to remove the pit itself so that it does not come back. The surgery was supposed to be on the 10th of October 2021, she could not t go because she’d never been to surgery anf she got nervous.
