Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, known professionally as Makhadzi is a South African singer and musician. Born and raised in Ha-Mashamba, Limpopo, She is best known for her songs “Tshanda Vhuya” and “Matorokisi.”
Her 2020 album Kokovha (Crawl), became one of her biggest successes. It debuted number one on iTunes albums charts, containing chart-topping singles: Amadoda, Mphemphe, Kokovha, Tshikwama.
Life before fame
Makhadziwas born on June 30, 1996 in a small village called Ha-Mashamba Tshivhangani, just outside Elim in Limpopo.
After her parents separated, Makhadzi and her two siblings had to stay with their mother. She completed her grade 12 at Mukula Integrated School.
She holds a degree in Public Relations, and is currently studying Drama.
Makhadzi’s career started at the age of 12, when used to perform at Taxi ranks, getting money from people’s offerings.
She later joined Makirikiri Musical Groupas a dancer. This allowed her to travel and see many parts of the world, showcasing her skills.
She says the experience she gained as a dancer made her fall in love with the arts, and awakened her desire to be a singer.
Her big break came when one studio manager came across her amateur recordings and fell in love with them, thus landing an opportunity to record in the studio.
Her first album was released in 2012, and she has been creating and dropping music ever since.
Troubles in the industry
Makhadzi’s road to stardom was not an easy one, particularly in the early days of her career.
In 2020, Makhadzi detailed how she was exploited by her former manager, Rita Dee Nephawe.
In a series of tweets, Makhadzi alleged that her former manager was pocketing all of the proceeds from her music.
She further revealed that her first car, a KIA Picanto which she paid for in full by herself was not under her name, as the manager refused to transfer ownership.
In her defense, Rita Dee revealed that she doesn’t owe the star any money because Makhadzi signed a direct deal with distribution company Open Mic and cut her from their managerial arrangement.
On the car issue, she said was keeping the papers as her insurance because Makhadzi had crashed an Audi belonging to her and has since not fixed it.
“She wants me to give her the car papers and then I am left with a bill to pay for that Audi which I asked her to fix and she didn’t”, said Rita.
Net worth and cars
Industry drama aside, Makhadzi’s career has been on an upward trajectory, and 2021 in particular has been a great year for the ‘queen of Limpopo dance music’.
On September 3rd she releases her latest and much awaited album- African Queen.
The 19 song album features some of the biggest names in South African music, shuch as; Kabza De Small, Lady Du, Cassper Nyovest, Mr Brown, DJ Dance Okashi, and Mlindo The Vocalist.
With such incredible success, Makhadzi has made a lot of money from her music. As of 2021, she has a net worth estimated at, at least $400 000 (about R6 million).
Unlike most celebs, Makhadzi does not spend much of her earnings on cars, and expensive clothes; rather on real estates.

There is no doubt that Makhadzi can certainly afford to buy more cars, if need be. But much of her earnings were spent on real estate.
She built (and bought) homes for both her parents- two homes because they are separated; and one for her grandmother.
Below is the house she built for her mother, to show her gratitude for all that she’s done for her.
She later bought a home for herself in August this year.
“The first time I entered to my house I took this picture. My dream came true and I am proud of myself.
“I built my grandmother a house with a garden just because my mom and father separated I decided to not choose but to build them two different houses. Now I bought MY OWN HOUSE!”, she tweeted.
