Nthombifuthi, who is from Umlazi, said that a group of bad people had tricked her. Senzo’s mom tells the story of what happened and says that the strange woman picked up a purse that was on the floor in front of her grocery cart. Then, a group of men who said they were police came up to the two women. The men asked the women for their things so they could supposedly look for stolen things. Senzo’s mom said that the group of men never came back after she gave them all of her belongings, including her bank pin. Things got worse, though.

In isiZulu, the woman said, “I went to the bank and they told me the money had been taken out. I cried until dawn and felt bad about it because I always told kids to be careful of criminals, but they caught me.”

In another interview on the YouTube show, Senzo Meyiwa’s mother criticized Kelly Khumalo’s mother. This month, Nthombifuthi told Phumlani Dube at length how angry she was that Kelly’s mom, Ntombi, didn’t reach out to her. Senzo was shot and killed on October 26, 2014, in the home of Ntombi Khumalo in Vosloorus.
