A wife of top Ex-chiefs star based in the USA talks about long distance relationship

Former attacking winger for Kaizer Chiefs, Marco Mthembu, is one of the well-known South African footballers who moved to a different continent after his playing days. The 48-year-old football player, who was born in Durban, moved to the United States of America (USA) after he stopped playing football. He wanted to find better opportunities there.

The two-time league winner with the Kazier Chiefs has a dual US citizenship and works as a football coach and college administrator at Texas College. In order to spend time with his longtime girlfriend Gift Mthembu, the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder maestro had to travel back and forth from the USA to South Africa.

After a few years, the couple got back together and moved to the United States, where they are now raising their two children. Since then, Gift Mthembu, who now lives full-time in the United States, has used her Instagram account to talk about the time they were apart, but mostly about how happy she is that they are back together.

Gift Mthembu would post a video of herself on a popular platform and write, “My husband and I lived across the ocean from each other, and the distance was hard for me to handle.” She would then add a teary face and crossed fingers emojis.

The next day, Gift would add a caption to the shared video, “It was hard when I was at my worst. I made it through the distance “. In the comments, Gift Mthembu went on to say that her husband, who used to play football for a living, helped her move to the United States.
