Deborah Fraser, a veteran award-winning gospel singer was ill and has been wheelchair bound after recent health complications which revealed it was due to diabetes.
She was hopeful that she would get better and be back on stage doing what she loves, healing people through music.
However, she has lost the battle. In a statement released by the Fraser family, the family her passing on Sunday midday.
“It is with deep sadness to inform you of the passing of our beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend, and gospel musician, Deborah Fraser following a short illness. She passed on today [Sunday] after midday, in the presence of her family and friends”. The family statement said.
According to Fraser’s friends, the 56-year-old singer had been critically ill for the week. In February, she spent weeks in Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital. After she recovered from the serious diabetic attack she couldn’t walk and had to be confined to a wheelchair, while she also struggled with night blindness and dizziness.
