breakthrough in their investigation into the murder of Hillary Gardee, the daughter of former Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) General Secretary Godrich Gardee, who was shot to death at her home. Earlier this week, authorities discovered Gardee’s body along Lydenburg Road, prompting them to conduct an extensive inquiry into her death. Due to the continuing investigation, authorities were unable to provide any other information about the arrest, other than to say that one had been made. “Bloody incompetent,” the Gardee family says of the police, to which the Mpumalanga SAPS responds. In related news, the provincial police have denied claims that they were unaware of the bullet wound that was discovered on Hillary Gardee during the investigation. Gardee was discovered with only bruises on her body, according to the police; however, a forensics team later discovered that she had been shot in the back of the head, as had been suspected. In addition, the police allege that they informed the family of the information. The 28-year-old was found murdered on Tuesday, and it is believed that he was shot in the back of the head. In a statement issued by Col Donald Mdhluli, the spokesperson for the Mpumalanga police, Col Semakaleng Daphney Manamela stated a team comprised of officers from all levels has been assembled to examine this case.
