Bongile Mantsai made his first onscreen appearance on the discontinued Mzansi Magic drama series called Nkululeko. Ever since then he has been casted for a lot of short and long term films including roles on Scandal, Grootboom and Sons just to name a few. In 2017 he was honored by the South African Film And Television Awards for Best supporting actor in a film. This shows that Bongile is indeed a force to be reckoned with. Join us as we unpack more of the story below and share the latest on his career.

Entertainment Commentator Phil Mphela has revealed that Bongile has just bagged himself a lead role in a new series. He will make his debut on the series titled IDENTITY starting from the 8th of May on SABC 1 and take on the role of pastor. The plot twist emerges when he decides to switch careers and become a cop. He will then go missing and declared as dead only to wake up in a hospital situated in Hillbrow. The doctors will diagnose him with amnesia. That’s when everything else will unfold as he goes on a quest to rediscover his identity (as the title entails).
His stellar performance on The Republic
Season 2 of The Republic just ended a couple of weeks ago. Bongile was casted as the Minister of Police (MK) who was very corrupt and would do anything to become the next president of the country. It’s not a secret that this season was not so exciting as compared to the first one, I’d hate to see the production ruin what they’ve achieved thus far with another flopping season and a boring storyline.
