Sad: Advocate Teffo Stands Inside Dock At Hillbrow Magistrates Court

Malesela Teffo, the lawyer who was arrested on camera inside a courtroom on Thursday, is back in court, but this time he’s the one in the dock.

Many South Africans were shaken by Teffo’s detention, and many wondered: if a human rights defender can be detained in that manner, what more does an ordinary South African have to face under this system?

Teffo appeared in court dressed in the same clothes he wore when he was arrested on Thursday. He’ll be in front of the Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court today. When

When a journalist inquired how he was doing after the way in which he was arrested, he simply replied, “He’s cool.”

Fana Mokoena, a leading member of the Economic Freedom Fighters, said that several codes were broken in the arrest of attorney Teffo, indicating that South Africa is slowly becoming a “banana republic.”

Advocate Teffo is obviously being harassed, and the reasons for this must be made public. Several codes were broken here. In a so-called democratic state, such deterioration in law enforcement is perilous. “It’s one of the Banana Republic’s symptoms,” he explained.

Bheki Cele’s law enforcement, according to Fana Mokoena, is rapidly degrading.

The system is teetering on the brink of collapse, and it’s in the public eye. Cele, on the other hand, seemed to be unconcerned. He doesn’t seem to be aware of the impending crisis. “Failing law enforcement poses a significant threat to democracy,” he stated.

It’s unclear what charges attorney Malesela Teffo is facing at this time, which led to his detention.

Many people who sympathize with advocate Teffo believe he was targeted because he questioned the “untouchables.”

They believe there is more to the arrest of Teffo at a time when Senzo Meyiwa’s trial appeared to be headed in the right path than meets the eye.
