Kwaito legend Zola 7 is engulfed by more problems while he is trying to recover and gets his life back again.
Knowing how Zola, whose real name is Bonginkosi Dlamini is loved by many, it makes it very easy for scammers and fraudsters to use his name. It is not once or twice but numerous times, imposters have used Zola’s name for their greedy benefits. They know people will pay money thinking that it is Zola whereas it is not him.
Now a case of fraud has been opened against a man who has been posing himself as Bonginkosi Zola 7 Dlamini.
What happened is that a promoter or events coordinator booked “Zola” and even paid R10 000 deposit, only to be told that it is a wrong account.
This made things to be very tense between Queen Kay,the promoter who paid the deposit and Zola himself. It is worse because Queen Kay has recently posted an event poster on Facebook with his face on it.
Zola saw this poster and informed his fans that he has no knowledge of it and was not paid for the gig, therefore he will not be performing.
He told his fans that if they attend the event and expect to see him, they must not waste their time because he won’t be there.
However, Queen Kay insisted that she has made the payment to Zola to confirm her booking.
She later on realised that she has been scammed and decided to open a case against the Zola 7 impostor. Queen Kay maintained she spoke to Zola 7 not someone else, however her suspicions are even stronger because his wife and manager, Siki Kunene has been harrassing her.
Queen Kay stated that Zola’s wife, Siki, told her to change the story because now it seems Zola is running away after being paid and this paints a wrong picture of him. Queen Kay refused to do so and asked that they do a joint statement instead of which Siki did not agree to.
North West police spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone confirmed that a case has been opened but no arrests has been made.
