EFF leader Julius Malema has been dragged for encouraging poor people to build on wetlands through his land invasion policy. Furthermore, many have been asking why the EFF leader has not gone to KwaZulu-Natal to offer help to residents whom he advised to invade any piece of land that they see.
As the government is on the ground, helping flood victims and donors giving homeless people food and clothing, Malema has also gone to KwaZulu-Natal to offer groceries to the victims.
While addressing the residents of Ward 25 KwaMamsuthu, Malema told them that he has not come to KwaZulu-Natal to give a speech but to lend a helping hand and offer them the little that the EFF has.
Apart from the groceries and blankets that have been donated to one of the churches, the EFF has donated R500 000 to help the victims. Malema has urged the masses to also donate and has called for land expropriation, citing that there is a lot of free safe land that can be given to the poor to save them from natural disasters.
He has further assured the residents that they are not alone and that the EFF is with them and will be coming back to provide sponges. He adds that the R500 000 that the EFF is donating will be given to the church, that it will not be sent to the government, alleging that it will steal it.
