My opinion is that Ukhozi FM made a huge mistake by remove Sya on air and now another big station could be very lucky to have him as he is rumoured to be joining another big SABC radio station.

Former Ukhozi FM presenter, Siya Mhlongo is without a doubt, the best presenter Ukhozi FM had on air.

He is what is required in the 21st century o now f n radio and the one who can stand such innovative times. Times have changed now and so is radio. The radio nowadays is not like years ago. It is an evolution radio which has to adapt to such times.

Radio is competing with high increase of technology, people are spending time a lot on their cellphone or laptop for entertainment purposes. They use social media a lot to get information and research. There are music sites or streaming services they use to get music.

 

 

 

Question is, so why would they need radio whereas everything that they use to get on radio, they can now get it on their devices?

Here’s the answer: Radio offers an immediate knowledge that a presenter on air delivers with such an authentic way and well researched. When listening to radio and you hear that presenter delivering it you are in awe and amazement at that new information.

As a listener, you did not know about it but now you have just been informed of it.

That is Siya Mhlongo. He made sure that each and every link he makes, he takes you somewhere you have never been, in giving you that necessary information you had no idea of and even the internet would not explain it in s simplicity way that Siya has done.

His knowledge about music, when he back announces a song, he will give you some brief information about that song and even takes you back in the years when that song was released. He will share a story what happened on the release of that song.

Well that just shows how incredible he was as a radio presenter, even though Ukhozi have placed him as a host of their Vodcast, Ukhozi FM TV but his skill in radio will forever be the best.

That is why, if rumours are true, according to Isolezwe, that he is joining Metro FM, then it would absolutely the best thing.

Siya is rumoured to be joining Thami Ngubeni on The Sacred Space, every Sunday morning on Metro FM.
