Mzansi Magic’s Umkhokha was an instant hit with its very vibrant storyline that aimed to share the conflicts amongst church leaders. Besides the fact that it received a lot of criticism from the members of the Shembe congregants, viewers seemed to have loved how everything unpacked. As hinted before, it has been revealed that the show might just return for the 2nd season under a new production company and this time around its going to be a long series. Entertainment Commentator Phil Mphela has revealed that that Umkhokha is going to be added on the catalogue of Showmax. This includes all the episodes for season 1 and the upcoming a season. I know most of you are waiting for news on when season 2 is dropping but no communication concerning that has been provided as of yet. It will be available for streaming starting from the 11th of April on the platform.
What is the series about?
As aforementioned, it’s a faith based series that stars Deli Malinga who was Sthandiwe Kgoroge on Generations, Nay Maps from Uzalo and other new talented faces. It follows two families that are at war with each other after the death of the leader. Members of Zion Church and Shembe where assured that the series is about a fictional church and no permission was needed from them in this instance.
