Former Rhythm City actress Mapula Mafole academic qualifications get Mzansi talking

Mapula Mafole’s role in the now-cancelled show Rhythm City as Mapula made her a household name. She is undoubtedly the actress we all love to hate, and her unique acting skills have wowed us for years. She recently hogged headlines when her video spinning decks went viral. Mzansi questioned her academic qualifications as she struggled to make ends meet after her role in Rhythm City.

The actress was born in Klerksdorp, and her parents later relocated to Tshwane when Mapula was 10. She grew up a brilliant, intelligent child, and she was involved in many school games when she was doing her primary school at Tshwane High School. Mapula’s parents later relocated to the United Kingdom, searching for greener pastures leaving Mapula to take care of her two siblings.

She was only a teenager when her parents left, and the responsibility of being a deputy parent to her siblings affected her academically. Luckily, her college teachers noticed that she was mentally disturbed, and they came to her rescue. Mapula got help from the College psychologist, who offered her therapy.

Mapula holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film, TV and Entertainment degree from AFDA, and she graduated in 2013.

Career in acting
Mapula ventured into acting in 2012 when she won a gig at Generations. She killed her role to perfection on Generations, evidenced by her bagging new acting gigs in her career. Her road to fame was bumpy, but she is among the celebrated actress today through her hard work.
