Berry full name Berenike Trytsman is a South African musician and the winner of Idols of South Africa season 17. Berry Trytsman’s father passed when she was seventeen years old. She is from Capetown and was born on 7 May 1990. Berry Trytsman’s husband is Renier and together with her husband they have four children as of August 2021. Her husband has two sons from previous relationship and Berry has a son from her previous relationship.

The couple welcomed their first baby, a daughter on June 25th, 2019. She made it to top two contenstants on Idols South Africa season 17. Berry Trytsman was the winner of Idols South Africa season 17. Her price package included R85 000 worth of musical equipment from Yamaha, a record deal with Kalawa Jazmee Records, a Renault Kiger, R100 000 in Truworths fashion vouchers, R260 000 from Regenesys Business School to pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 on a Vodacom Red 100GB plan.

Berry first entered Idols when she was 20 and made a promise to herself that she would return before she was over the allowed age. The mother of two looks forward to working with Black Coffee and Goldfish, who she feels make music that is more international. She has been singing for the past 22 years under Music Blimp Productions, her husband’s company. She is also a seasoned vocal director at the company.

Winning this year’s Idols South Africa is therefore, a major highlight in her career. Berry’s song, Ungowami is her debut single under Kalawa Jazmee Records. The isiZulu masterpiece impressed judges Unathi and Msaki as they complimented her for handling the language with high regard.
