Bheki Sibiya stole our hearts when he aced his role in etv’s Durban Gen when he brought the character Dr. Ndlovu to life. His journey on the medical series came to an end in 2021 after his role was written off with a storyline of escorting his girlfriend to seek medical attention abroad. The veteran actor has been in several productions after his Durban Gen exit.

Bheki Sibiya was tagged in several Instagram posts today when the trailer of a new series he worked on came out. The actor takes on a lead role in his new Mzansi Magic drama series. From the trailer of Umbuso, we can tell that Bheki takes on the part of a patriarchal head of a family that is full of secrets. The drama series will start on the 3rd of April 2022. Umbuso is coming soon to Mzansi Magic on Sundays.

Umbuso has a star-studded cast with talented actors and actresses in the entertainment industry. Kwanele Mthetwa joins his cast playing Bheki Sibiya’s daughter. Recently the two played father and daughter in a Showmax movie called Induku. Actress Zinzi Zungu takes on the role of the wife with secrets that can ruin her family.

Chris Jaftha joins this cast playing the role of Mike while Sandile Mahlangu takes on the role of Samora. Chris is known for his hosting job on eonline Africa and his journey as a contestant on dancing with the stars. Sandile Mahlangu is familiar with his role in Scandal.

Other actors who will join the Umbuso cast are Omuhle Makaziwe Gela, Mzwandile Ngubeni, Khojane Morai, and Keke Mphuthi. The series has not released information on what the story will be about. However, the cast members have been met with applause from fans and other entertainers. The series looks as if it is going to be a hit already. Umbuso will replace The Republic on its Sunday 8 pm slot.
