Wright Tadeyo Chiume, her father, is a Malawian native from Usisya, Nkhata Bay, Malawi. Her mother, on the other hand, was from the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal. The 69-year-old actress matriculated in the Eastern Cape after growing up in Welkom. She majored in education after matriculating and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education.
