Musa Mseleku is a popular polygamist whose been on our screens for a while now with his 4 wives. However the wife who people relate to most and adore is his third wife Thobile “MaKhumalo” Mseleku. Her popularity had propelled her to a solo opportunity to be on Real Housewives of Durban.

Her husbands presence however was like a dark cloud on a sunny day.

 

 

Thobile has become South Africa’s darling not just through her friendly disposition but because of how the country perceives her husband. They view him as a bully who uses her infertility to get her to agree to his nonsense. For context, the “nonsense” is bringing a woman with the same surname as her into their polygamist marriage.

 

But I feel like Thobile is trying to break away from the narrative that places her in pure victimhood. This venture into a show where only she will be centre stage is something spectacular and for herself. The only thing that could mar this for her would be

Fans were annoyed by his cameo appearance on Real Housewives of Durban, especially after he made it a point to ask Thobile if Sorisha Reddy would be hanging out with her. They labelled him as insecure with many users pointing out that Thobile is young and beautiful, anyone could scoop her up from him.

Personal Thoughts

However, I don’t believe that’s what it is merely jealousy. I believe men know when they don’t treat you right. They know when you deserve better and they know that they fall short of expectations. If he was more a secure man he’d have no lingering doubts about her standing on the show. But his views shouldn’t be reflected by Thobile. She may be married but she still an individual entity. Only she can determine how her time on the show will go.

She was chosen as part of the cast for a reason, all she needs to do is continue to be authentic self and let him fall away. We want to see the ladies, not the men.
